For 2,000 years, he has been held responsible for Jesus' death on the cross, considered the epitome of the traitor, and repeatedly misused to justify prejudice and antisemitism in all its forms. In a staged show, he now encounters the audience in person and can finally speak for himself. The audience hears what drove this contemporary and ardent admirer of Jesus of Nazareth to push the situation in the Garden of Gethsemane to its extreme. A harrowing monologue that astonishes, explains much, but simultaneously leaves much open to interpretation. Those who listen are confronted with their own inner turmoil.
