This marks another important step in the development of the transportation infrastructure for one of the city's newest residential areas. \u201cThe road construction in the Edelsteinviertel is another step towards completing the transportation infrastructure necessary for the full development of new residential areas in Darmstadt,\u201d explains Head of Mobility Paul Georg Wandrey. Traffic calming measures were already incorporated into the planning in the summer of 2024 \u2013 including ramps, raised paving, waste collection points, and bicycle parking facilities. The development area is located south of Erbacher Stra\u00dfe, between the Oberfeld estate to the east and the future \u201cAm Busenberg\u201d road to the west. The four main access roads \u2013 Am Molkenbrunnen, Am Busenberg, Am Judenteich, and An der Meierei \u2013 run north-south and will be designated as traffic-calmed zones. Greenery and accessibility features are planned. The final development will encompass a total area of \u200b\u200bapproximately 11,000 square meters. The plans include 63 tree plantings and the creation of 31 public parking spaces, including three designated disabled parking spaces.
