We're having chicken nuggets with potato wedges and herbed quark,\" reveals Matilda (ten years old). To conclude \"WinterFun,\" the holiday program offered by the city's youth office and the Auszeit association, youth worker Julia Spitzer invited the girls to cook together. Since the Erfelden youth center is currently closed due to several water leaks, she had to move the program to the Leeheim youth center at short notice. But before the cooking began, there was planning and shopping. \"We first discussed together what we wanted to cook, then made a shopping list and went shopping,\" reports Spitzer. Now, in several rooms of the youth center, everyone is working diligently on a multi-course meal. While the main course is being prepared in the kitchen, Clara, Fiona, Leonie, and Doreen are taking care of the appetizers a few steps down. While Leonie and Doreen make a cucumber salad, Clara and Fiona prepare dough for classic pizza rolls and a tarte flamb\u00e9e variation. In the next room, Milena, Hira, and Noah take a short break. They have to wait until the melted chocolate has cooled down enough to be safely mixed with the whipped cream. After all, the chocolate mousse shouldn't be runny, but nice and firm for dessert. The \"WinterFun\" program offered various activities during the first two weeks of January, which could also be booked individually. Youth worker Spitzer reports that the response to all the activities was very positive. The program kicked off with a trip to Darmstadt for ice skating. Another day included an excursion to Frankfurt, with a visit to the St\u00e4del Museum and the city center. There was also a laser tag game in Darmstadt for young people aged twelve and up, and now, on the last day of the holiday program, participants are cooking. But of course, it's not just about cooking. As a grand finale, all the delicious treats prepared together are being enjoyed with great pleasure.
