Over the years, Klaus Preu\u00df has taken on numerous responsible roles. Among other things, he served as training director, financial administrator, and treasurer. Since 1993, he has been a member of the executive board, which makes the fundamental decisions regarding the Johanniter Accident Assistance's association policy and establishes guidelines for the work of the national board and the state boards. A year later, he was appointed to the volunteer board of the Darmstadt-Dieburg regional association. Both positions he continues to fill with great dedication. For his service, he has received numerous awards, including the Certificate of Honor for Meritorious Citizens of the City of Darmstadt and the Federal Cross of Merit. Besides his work with the Order of St. John, Klaus Preu\u00df has another passion: model making. His commitment extends beyond his own hobby; he also shares his knowledge with young people. In 2022, he initiated the \"Model Railway\" children's and youth project at the Order of St. John's office in Griesheim. Within this special project, children and teenagers build a detailed model railway under his guidance. In doing so, they acquire craftsmanship, technical understanding, and learn to work as a team. The project combines fun with educational learning and has become an integral part of the Order of St. John's youth work in the region. A particularly valuable aspect is that the young participants take on responsibility early and can contribute their own ideas to the design of the layout.
