We, as the town of Gro\u00df-Gerau, wholeheartedly support this important project.\" Construction is planned to begin in 2025. The Gro\u00df-Gerau Hospice Foundation plans to build an inpatient hospice with twelve guest rooms and four day-care places \u2013 a concept unique in the region. The building application is to be submitted shortly, with construction planned to begin later this year. Construction is expected to take at least 18 months. The hospice is being built on the site of the former Allianz insurance company Diehl, which will be demolished before construction begins. The initiative for the hospice began in 2021. Thanks to broad support in the Gro\u00df-Gerau district, the project has been able to move forward. Starting in 2025, all 14 municipalities in the district will contribute \u20ac1 per resident annually to the financing. \"This social project is of great importance to the entire population. Hospice care is an essential public service,\" explains Petra Boulannouar, Chair of the Board of the Gro\u00df-Gerau Hospice Foundation. The Terra Verde organic market, which has been an integral part of Gro\u00df-Gerau's town center since 2007, regularly supports regional and social projects. Store manager Angelika Kocak is delighted that the anniversary campaign will support a local project close to her heart: \"For us, sustainability means not only ecological responsibility but also social commitment. With this donation, we want to give something back together with our customers.\" The fundraising campaign demonstrates once again how community engagement can contribute to a better world \u2013 be it through sustainable nutrition or by supporting social projects in the region. Third Star Run in September. In 2025, there will again be a Star Run to the Gro\u00df-Gerau market square, organized by the Hospice Foundation. This third charity run will take place on September 7th. All runners are warmly invited to participate. The motto is: \"Running together and doing good.\" A festival with food, drinks, music, and entertainment awaits participants in the market square.
