Young people from both cities spend a week together under the motto "Friendship"
In the anniversary year of the city partnership between Griesheim and Bar-le-DUC, a special youth encounter is currently taking place: from July 5th to 11th, 2025, seven young people from France and seven meet from Germany to spend time together, to get to know cultures and to close friendships.
The first half of the week was all about getting to know each other in Griesheim: In the youth center Blue Box , the participating activities such as graffiti workshops , a trip to Frankfurt , had a visit to the trampoline hall and other leisure activities. In addition to fun and exchange, there was also the opportunity language skills and to experience the other culture up close.
On Wednesday, July 8th , the group continued to bar-le-duc in France. On the way there, the young people Verdun , where Franco-German history, especially the First World War , was brought closer to them in an age-appropriate form. The creation of the city twinning in 1975 was also discussed.
In bar-le-duc, the participants await a warm welcome from the Defense Committee, which organized a small celebration ("une fête") . trip to the LAC du , one of the largest reservoirs in Europe, as well as other joint activities that are supposed to enrich the remaining days are planned
