Young people contribute their own ideas – Mayor Feick praises constructive dialogue
Reinheim – An intensive and engaged exchange took place last week between the Reinheim Youth Forum and representatives of the city council and the municipal administration . The aim of the meeting was to further strengthen the direct dialogue between young people and local politics.
Young people contribute projects and wishes
At the beginning, the youth forum presented its previous activities: In addition to participating in city events and festivals, these included joint bicycle tours with the mayor, the installation of a sunbathing island in the Georgenhausen leisure centre and the idea for a youth shelter as a meeting place in Reinheim.
An open and intensive discussion ensued with the political representatives. The young people were pleased with the genuine interest and constructive attitude of the city politicians towards their concerns.
Feick: "Talk with, not about, young people"
Mayor Manuel Feick emphasized the importance of dialogue:
"It is important to me that we talk with the young people in our shared city and not about them. Since the founding of the youth forum, a great cooperation has developed, in which a number of things have already been set in motion."
The Reinheim Youth Forum and the city's youth services department thank everyone involved for their support and invite interested young people to get involved. "The young people are always happy to welcome new members," said Feick.
