Economic representatives welcome the minister's commitment - "renovation time plans for all bridges"
The Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IHK) Darmstadt welcomes the personal commitment of the Hessian Minister of Transport Kaweh Mansori for the replacement of the blocked Zeller Brücke on the B45. As the transport minister announced today at a press conference on site, there is already a demolition schedule through which the route of the Odenwaldbahn should be accessible until the end of the summer vacation.
"This is an important signal for commuters and employers," emphasizes Dr. Daniel Theobald , head of the company and location of the IHK Darmstadt.
New building in record time based on the model of Genoa?
The IHK sees positively that a planning approval process should be dispensed with for the planned new building - this can accelerate the procedure. Nevertheless, Theobald warns:
"It now urgently needs a resilient schedule for the replacement building . Our goal remains: a new building in record time - based on the model of the bridge in Genoa."
He also praises the current focus of the capacities on the Zeller bridge to absorb speed. However, the situation should be reason to learn from the case :
"We need renovation time plans for all bridge structures so that there are no sudden closures that slow down the traffic and thus the economy."
The economy continues to be reached
Despite the restrictions, the IHK emphasizes that the accessibility of the Odenwaldkreis is still guaranteed.
"The diversions cost time and are a burden on site and for customers. But they work. No company is cut off," says Theobald Klar.
