Exhibition opens as part of the Schader Festival on September 12th
The Schader Foundation is dedicating a comprehensive retrospective to the artist Zoya Sadri, Titled "A Silent Experience – Zoya Sadri in Retrospective," the exhibition will open on September 12, 2025, at the Schader Gallery, offering insights into over 35 years of her artistic work.
Sadri, born in Tehran in 1955 and living in Germany since 1987, developed her work in various phases – from figurative works to abstract, symbolic forms of expression. Her themes ranged from Persian mythology and women's struggle for freedom to questions of peace, conflict, and artistic experimentation. Since the mid-1990s, she has regularly presented her work in exhibition spaces in the Rhine-Main region, most recently in 2022 at the Schader Foundation with the exhibition "Things and Events" .
The exhibition title refers to the concept of "silent experience," as coined by Robert Musil: a state of consciousness arising from unexpected impressions beyond rational explanation. Sadri's daughter, Rhea Eghtesadinia , who is providing the works on loan, describes her mother's artistic approach as follows: "From observations and the apparent chaos of life, she developed artistic ideas, which she transformed into painting, graphic art, sculpture, and installation."
