A man from Königstädten celebrates a special day of honor in the Groß-Gerau district
To mark his 100th birthday, Thomas Will visited Karl-Adam Dill of Königstadt on Monday, January 12th . Two days earlier, the centenarian had already celebrated his milestone birthday with his family at the Höll am Main restaurant.
Karl-Adam Dill continues to live in his own house in Königstädten. He is supported there by his daughters and a housekeeper. The district administrator was impressed by the 100-year-old's physical and mental fitness and conveyed the congratulations of the Groß-Gerau district, along with a certificate and a bouquet of flowers. Thomas Will spent about 45 minutes visiting, which was used for a lively and personal conversation.
Looking back on career, family and sporting life
In the interview, Karl-Adam Dill spoke about his professional life as a master toolmaker at Opel , as well as his sporting activities, which he pursued well into old age. He was particularly fond of alpine skiing, and for many years he also jogged regularly.
Family life also played a role: He had three daughters from his first marriage, one of whom has already passed away. One of his daughters is Andrea Ypsilanti , who is known beyond the district for her political career. Karl-Adam Dill has a total of five grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were also present at his birthday celebration.
The centenarian remains interested in current events, regularly reads newspapers and books, and enjoys good food. This keeps him mentally active and engaged with life even at 100 years old.
