Local association celebrates anniversary and looks back on growing services
As the German Red Cross (DRK) local branch in Weiterstadt reports, the senior citizens' gymnastics group for 25 years . Instead of the usual weekly exercise session, the anniversary was celebrated last week with coffee and cake – with participants, some of whom since the very beginning . The group was initiated by Ingrid Best Lilo Beck has led since 2015 .

The senior citizens' gymnastics group follows a specially designed German Red Cross (DRK) program that promotes mobility and fitness and is complemented music, exercises, and social activities anniversary celebrations and senior citizens' afternoons organized by the local branch.

“It’s wonderful that some of the original participants are still with us today, and that so many new ones have joined,” said Ingrid Best .
Lilo Beck emphasized the group’s motivation professional development of the course instructors to ensure quality standards.
Wide range of services offered by the German Red Cross in Weiterstadt
Maintaining health is a key focus of the German Red Cross's (DRK) work locally. In recent years, additional exercise and prevention courses added – including back and preventative gymnastics, fall prevention, Nordic walking, progressive muscle relaxation, yoga , as well as autogenic training and memory training Pelvic floor training is planned again for next year . The central location of the DRK premises in the city makes it easy to participate on foot .
