City of Darmstadt expects significant noise relief in the north - trial operation scheduled for twelve months
Darmstadt - On July 10, 2025, the trial operation of the shifted flight route "Cindy S / Amtix Kurz" . In the future, the new departure route will run between Erzhausen and Wixhausen - with the aim of reducing the noise pollution in the entire region. For a period of twelve months, the actual noise situation by the environmental and neighborhood house (UNH) checked.
The UNH is also a office of the Forum Airport and region (FFR) recommended in autumn 2024 together with the Frankfurt Aircraft Noise Commission The first evaluations are to be presented in the responsible committees after just six months.
City of Darmstadt wants to verify noise relief itself
Environmental director Michael Kolmer sees an important progress in relocation:
"After years of commitment, I am very pleased that the relocation can finally be implemented on July 10th. Trial operations will bring a higher quality of life for thousands of people in Darmstadt and the region. We as a city will also check that the mathematically determined improvements can be found in the actual flight operation."
For this purpose, the municipal environmental agency carry out its own analyzes based on the municipal noise meters. The deviations towards Wixhäuser in the outskirts observed in the former trial operations (winter 2020/21) are also to be evaluated.
