Citizens can harvest fruit trees themselves
On Saturday, September 20, 2025, the Science City of Darmstadt invites you to the traditional apple harvest at Rosenhöhe. Starting at 8:00 a.m., apple trees—including varieties such as Boskop, Goldparmäne, Ontario, Jonagold, and Brettacher—as well as quinces and pears can be harvested.
Depending on the size of the tree, the fee ranges from approximately €10 to €60. The proceeds go towards maintaining the orchard. Harvesting ends at 2 p.m.
Interested residents are asked to bring their own ladders and baskets. For inquiries, the city's Parks and Recreation Department is available 0175 4339680
Rosenhöhe is car-free. Parking is available on Zeyherweg or Seitersweg . Larger loads of fruit can be transported to your parked car using a municipal electric vehicle. Access via Löwentor and Ludwig-Engel-Weg is not possible.
