Over 3,000 students are learning about their future opportunities at 66 regional companies.
As the district town of Groß-Gerau reports, the 2025 apprenticeship fair in the district sports hall was a resounding success. On Thursday, November 13, well over 3,000 students from numerous schools throughout the district took the opportunity to learn about apprenticeships, study programs, and career opportunities from 66 companies and institutions . Many parents were also present.
Strong response underlines the importance of career guidance
The high number of visitors demonstrates the importance of easily accessible career guidance services for young people. The apprenticeship fair facilitates personal conversations, provides concrete insights into different professions, and creates direct connections between potential applicants and employers.
Mayor Jörg Rüddenklau emphasized the importance of the event:
"The apprenticeship fair is an indispensable opportunity for young people to gain initial guidance for their future after school. My thanks go to the organizers and especially to the companies and institutions that are training our young talent here and helping to counteract the shortage of skilled workers."
Broad partnership strengthens the successful model
The apprenticeship exchange is a joint initiative of:
- the vocational schools of Groß-Gerau ,
- the district town of Groß-Gerau ,
- the district of Groß-Gerau ,
- the Groß-Gerau district craft association ,
- the Groß-Gerau Employment Agency ,
- the Darmstadt Rhine Main Neckar Chamber of Industry as well as
- the Frankfurt-Rhine-Main Chamber of Skilled Crafts .
This partnership clearly demonstrates the importance of the event for the regional economy and the career prospects of the younger generation.
Wide range of services: From consulting to professional practice
In addition to discussions, informational materials, and numerous exhibition stands, there were practical insights into various fields of work. Speaker Lounge , a format in which company representatives could present their apprenticeship programs in a concise manner.
Sabine Kämpf , headmistress of the vocational schools in Groß-Gerau, emphasized the role of the event in career choice:
"Our aim is to help young people make a successful start to their professional lives through sound training. We are proud to offer, together with our partners, a format that serves as a central point of contact for students and enables them to get to know many exciting professions."
