Swimming is suspended due to increased concentration of cyanobacteria
Darmstadt-Arheilgen. Swimming at the Arheilger Mühlchen natural swimming area is temporarily suspended with immediate effect. The reason is an increased concentration of cyanobacteria, commonly known as blue-green algae, in the water of the popular natural swimming area.
To protect the health of swimmers, the city of Darmstadt decided to close the swimming pool today, Tuesday. Water quality is being continuously monitored. Regular samples will determine when the pool can reopen. As soon as the readings are within safe limits, the public will be informed immediately.
