The Darmstadt carnival associations on Saturday, January 17thsymbolically seize power at the town hall again 12:11 pm The traditional storming of the town hall will begin square in front of the Central Station.
The carnival revelers are demanding that Hanno Benz and the city council of Darmstadt hand over the town hall key. As is the spirit of carnival tradition, a determined – albeit tongue-in-cheek – resistance from the mayor and the city council is to be expected.
The storming of the town hall is a traditional part of Darmstadt's carnival season and marks one of the highlights of the festivities each year. Interested citizens and media representatives are invited to witness the event firsthand.
