Jersey number 27: Polish striker sees Lilies as a new opportunity
Darmstadt/Bad Wörishofen – SV Darmstadt 98 has signed another striker, Bartosz Bialek Bad Wörishofen number 27 jersey for the Lilies .
Sporting director Paul Fernie expressed his satisfaction with the transfer: "Bartosz possesses enormous qualities. He is a complete center forward with both feet, heading ability, and game intelligence. Even though he has had little playing time recently due to injury, we see the signing as a low-risk, high-reward opportunity that fits well with our current squad situation."
Bialek himself emphasizes the importance of the move : "I really wanted to go to Darmstadt. The talks were very convincing, and I already know coach Florian Kohfeldt – that helps me to better assess his expectations for my position. After a difficult period, I see the new challenge as an opportunity to show what I'm capable of."
Stations in Poland, Wolfsburg, Arnhem and Eupen
Bialek was developed in the youth academy of Zaglebie Lublin Ekstraklasa at just 17 years old , scoring nine goals in 19 appearances. In 2020, he moved to VfL Wolfsburg , making 19 appearances and scoring two goals in his first Bundesliga season. This was followed by loan spells at Vitesse Arnhem (25 games, 5 goals) and most recently at KAS Eupen , where injuries hampered his progress.
Internationally, Bialek made 22 appearances for Poland's youth national teams. Among other achievements, he scored four goals for the U21 team in ten matches.
