Festival days with tradition, music and a large parade
The Bessungen fair 2025 will take place from September 18th to 23rd . Visitors can expect a varied program with music, church service, children's festival, fair speeches, a large parade and fireworks.
Greeting from the Kerbevadder
Kerbevadder Matthias Naas, together with his adjutants Dennis, Justin and Jan Winkler, welcomes the guests:
"Welcome to the Bessungen fair! We thank all the clubs, organizations, restaurateurs, and fairground operators who make this festival possible. Our special thanks go to the people of Bessungen, who are the heart of our fair year after year. Let's leave our worries behind for a few days and celebrate together. Cheers to the Bessungen fair!"
Program of the Bessungen Fair 2025
Thursday, September 18
- 6:00 p.m.: Variety show with music and comedy (Parish hall of Petrus Church, Eichwiesenstraße)
- 7:00 p.m.: Opening of the 2025 fair – “It’s going to be hot in Labbbingshausen!”
Free entry with a fair button, otherwise a €3 donation.
Friday, September 19
- 6:00 p.m.: Presentation of the Kerb wreath (Meeting point: Forstmeisterplatz)
- 7:00 p.m.: Raising of the Kerbekranz wreath in the Orangerie garden, tapping of the first keg by Mayor Hanno Benz
- From 8 p.m.: Kölsch party with Colonia Express (M&S Hausmann beer garden)
Saturday, September 20
- 12:00–15:00: Morning drinks at Gies's
- 1 p.m.: 36th Bessunger Merck Run (Start/Finish Orangerie)
- 2 p.m.: Hike with Georg “Schorsch” Angrick (Meeting point: Orangerie reading garden)
- 3 p.m.: Children's festival in the upper orangery garden
- 8:00 p.m.: Kerb speech in the Comedy Hall with Kerb leader Matthias and adjutants
- From 8 p.m.: The Sterzbach Boys in the Orangerie beer garden
Sunday, September 21
- 9:00 a.m.: Wake-up call through Old Bessungen
- 10:00 a.m.: Ecumenical service in the Bessungen church
- 11:00 AM: Handball players' brunch, from 8:00 PM DJ Ranger
- 1:45 p.m.: Grand parade through Bessungen (presentation at the Bessungen lighthouse)
- 3:30 p.m.: Concert coffee in the Orangery Garden
- From 8 p.m.: Music in the beer garden M&S Hausmann
Monday, September 22
- 10:00 a.m.: Morning gathering with a traditional speech in the Orangery Hall
- From 8 p.m.: Music in the beer garden M&S Hausmann
- Approx. 9:30 p.m.: Grand fireworks display in the Orangery Garden
Tuesday, September 23
- 7:30 p.m.: "Kerb Funeral" – Funeral procession from Brunnebitt through Bessungen
- Afterwards: Herring or meatloaf with boiled potatoes (parish hall of the Petrus parish)
