Registration required for appointment on August 19 – proof of ownership required
Groß-Gerau. To prevent bicycle theft, the Groß-Gerau police station is offering free bicycle coding . The event will take place on Tuesday, August 19, 2025 , from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM on the police station grounds at Europaring 15 .
Prior registration is mandatory for coding . Interested bicycle owners can register now by phone at 06152 / 175-19 or 06152 / 175-22 .
What do I need to bring for coding?
To ensure smooth coding, the police ask you to bring the following documents with you:
- ID card or other identification document
- Proof of ownership of the bicycle
- For e-bikes or pedelecs : Don’t forget the battery key
- The frame number of the bike should be known in advance
Important: Carbon frames are not suitable for the coding process.
Coding identifies the bike individually, making it easier to identify it in the event of a theft and can deter potential thieves. The police recommend this measure as an important contribution to theft protection.
