Registration required for appointment on August 19th – proof of ownership necessary
Groß-Gerau. To prevent bicycle theft, the Groß-Gerau police station is offering free bicycle coding . The event will take place on Tuesday, August 19, 2025 , from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on the grounds of the police station at Europaring 15 .
Prior registration is mandatory for bicycle coding . Interested bicycle owners can register immediately by calling 06152 / 175-19 or 06152 / 175-22 .
What do I need to bring for coding?
To ensure a smooth coding process, the police request that you bring the following documents:
- ID card or other identification document
- Proof of ownership for the bicycle
- For e-bikes or pedelecs : Don't forget the battery key.
- The frame number of the bicycle should be known in advance.
Important: Carbon frames are not suitable for the coding process.
Coding uniquely identifies each bicycle, making it easier to trace a stolen bike and potentially deterring thieves. The police recommend this measure as an important contribution to theft prevention.
