The citizens' association and district administration invite you to a hike
Under the motto "On the trail of the West," the Eberstadt Citizens' Association of 1980 and the Eberstadt District Administration invite you to the traditional border walk on Sunday, October 11, 2026. The meeting point is at 10 a.m. in the Eberstadt market square.
The approximately two-and-a-half-hour hike will be led by district administrator Ludwig Achenbach and members of the Eberstadt Citizens' Association. This year, the focus is on the western part of Eberstadt. Along the way, participants will receive information about well-known and lesser-known places, as well as news from Eberstadt's clubs and businesses.
From the market square to the forest sports field
From Eberstadt's market square, the route leads first to the barbecue hut. There, the newly elected board of the IG Eberstadt Clubs, elected last September, will introduce themselves and provide information about their work during a refreshment break.
The route then continues along the Modau promenade and past the new "The Valley" on the former Software AG site. After crossing Pfungstädter Straße, the hike leads via Eysenbachstraße and along the western edge of the Lämmchesberg housing estate through the forest to the SV Eberstadt sports grounds at the forest sports field.
There, the hikers will be welcomed by the carnival section of the SVE. This rest stop will also offer an opportunity for information and personal exchange.
Potato soup to finish
The walk concludes at the Eberstadt Citizens' Association at Oberstraße 20. There, potato soup prepared by the Eberstadt Red Cross will be served, with or without sausage. Cold drinks will also be available.
Food vouchers for a potato soup and a non-alcoholic drink cost eight euros and are available at the start and finish points.
