Training offers diverse career prospects at the state-level agency
Three new trainees began their professional careers at the Darmstadt Regional Council (RP) at the beginning of August. Regional President Prof. Dr. Jan Hilligardt recently met with them to discuss their first few weeks at the RP.
During their training as administrative assistants, the three trainees can expect practical training with varied tasks and insights into the different areas of the agency. In addition to classes at vocational school and the Hessian Academy of Public Administration, they gain practical experience in the agency's various departments. This allows them to become familiar with the diverse tasks of a state agency early on and to further develop their personal interests and strengths in practice. Furthermore, they receive optimal support through additional instruction in the agency's internal training offices throughout their apprenticeship.
“A good education is the foundation for a successful start to professional life. Here at the Regional Council, our trainees can take on responsibility from the very beginning, get to know different areas, and discover their own strengths,” says Regional President Hilligardt. “I am delighted that we have been able to attract such dedicated young people to work in the state administration with our new trainees.”
The training program at the Darmstadt Regional Council (RP Darmstadt) combines professional qualifications with practical experience. At the same time, trainees gain comprehensive insights into the work of a large state authority. This opens up diverse opportunities for their future careers. With the new training year, the Darmstadt Regional Council is once again gaining dedicated colleagues who will assume responsibility in a wide variety of roles and thus contribute to the region.
Background:
Career opportunities at the Darmstadt Regional Council (RP Darmstadt) are diverse. As a state-level authority, the RP serves as a link between the state government and the municipalities. This entails a wide range of tasks in southern Hesse and, in some cases, beyond – from ordnance disposal and refugee services to occupational safety, environmental protection, and nature conservation.
The agency currently employs more than 1,600 people at three large and several smaller locations.
