Premiere on September 13th at the TSG 1846 grounds – proceeds go to the "Aus der Not" association
On Saturday, September 13, 2025, a special sports and charity event will take place in Darmstadt: The Leo Club Darmstadt "Ludovicus," together with the Lions Clubs "Castrum" and "Louise Büchner," is organizing a charity tennis tournament . The venue is the tennis facility of TSG 1846 eV in Bessungen.
The tournament replaces the long-standing charity golf tournament of the two Lions Clubs and is intended to be a regular event. Up to 80 participants are expected, competing in rotating doubles pairings. Besides the sporting competition, the focus is primarily on the charitable cause: all proceeds – entry fees, raffle tickets, and cocktail sales at the evening event – will benefit the charity "Aus der Not Darmstadt eV" (Darmstadt .
Support for people in need
The still-young association has been committed to helping people in difficult circumstances since its founding. The two founders provide those in need with food, drinks, clothing, and hygiene products during weekly rounds in the city center. They also accompany people to doctor's appointments, government offices, or when searching for housing. On several occasions, they have been able to permanently get people off the streets – often through considerable personal effort.
Sports, awards ceremony and after-party
The charity tournament offers not only exciting matches but also a diverse supporting program. In the evening, the EnWoog guests to a buffet on the terrace. The awards ceremony will also take place there, before a raffle and an after-party with DJs from the Darmstadt-based label Label.31 round off the day. Guests who are not participating in the tournament are also welcome to the evening event.
