The residents of Schnenppenhausen raise concerns regarding traffic, local supply and the Mühlbach stream
Around 30 residents took advantage of the informal meeting at the Agora restaurant last week to discuss current issues in Schneppenhausen with Weiterstadt's mayor, Niklas Gehnich . The discussions focused primarily on questions concerning traffic, local amenities, and the development of the district.
Several participants criticized the parking situation and excessive speeds in the town. The condition of the so-called "retirement home,"which had been vandalized a few weeks prior, was also addressed. The city intends to take note of these concerns and monitor the situation.
Another key topic was the desire for a local grocery store in Schneppenhausen. Residents also suggested establishing an additional distribution point for yellow recycling bags in the district. This proposal is currently being reviewed by the town hall.
Many are also concerned about the Mühlbach stream, which, according to participants, is increasingly drying up. The city of Weiterstadt intends to forward this information to the Schwarzbachgebiet-Ried water association.
“Direct communication with citizens is particularly important to me. The feedback from the city districts helps us to identify challenges early on and to work together to find practical solutions. Even if not everything can be implemented immediately, we take the concerns seriously and address them,” said Mayor Niklas Gehnich.
The next public meeting will take place after the summer break on Wednesday, August 26th, at the Riedbahn . Citizens will then have another opportunity to voice their concerns and ideas.
