Foot and bike traffic affected / access to the town hall remains open
The second construction phase of the town hall renovation in Darmstadt goes into the next phase. From Wednesday, June 26, 2025, Schillerstrasse will be completely closed at the town hall . The blocking is necessary because the construction site device is expanded from the following day (June 27) by further containers and areas for storage and assembly.
Pedestrians and cycling and car traffic are affected . However, access and access to residents remain available.
Rathaus remains accessible - redirection for pedestrians
Access for visitors to the town hall continues to take place via the main entrance. The large parking lot in the east of the town hall towards Wolfsweg also remains fully usable.
Pedestrians who come from the south (Bessunner Straße) are asked to use access across the eastern parking lot along the green area.
The construction site facility on the town hall forecourt had already started at the end of May. Bicycle stands were moved, planters were changed, a street lantern was dismantled and trees and green areas secured or cut back. Since then, construction fences have been marking the construction site area.
