Actions from November 21st to 29th / Focus in 2025 is on electronic waste
Darmstadt. The municipal services department (EAD) of the City of Darmstadt is once again participating in the European Week for Waste Reduction (EWWR) this year . From November 21 to 29, 2025 , several events and information sessions will take place – with a particular focus on electronic waste . The aim of the week of action is to raise awareness of the sustainable use of resources . An overview of all activities can be found on the official EWWR action map.
“The production of new electronic devices consumes valuable resources such as rare earth elements, water, and energy,” explains City Treasurer André Schellenberg. “In addition, it generates significant amounts of greenhouse gas emissions. During this week of action, we are calling on people to extend the lifespan of electronic devices through repair, reuse, and conscious consumption.”
