District administration workshop lays foundation for greater climate resilience
Groß-Gerau district. An internal workshop with representatives from various departments of the district administration was recently held under the title "Climate Adaptation – Results and Approaches for the District's Climate Adaptation Concept." climate adaptation concept and develop concrete strategies for a climate-resilient future.
"The Groß-Gerau district's climate adaptation plan is a key step toward making our region fit for the future," emphasized First District Councilor Adil Oyan in his opening speech. "Only with sustainable solutions can we effectively protect ourselves and nature from the consequences of climate change."
Measures for heat protection and water balance
The workshop focused on topics such as heat mitigation , rainwater management , and the promotion of climate-resilient infrastructure . Participants discussed practical approaches to better adapt district buildings, open spaces, and organizational processes to changing climate conditions.
One important outcome was the further development of a catalogue of measures based on the experiences and perspectives of the various specialist departments. "The workshop demonstrated the importance of interdisciplinary dialogue," explained Clara Hemming , the district's climate adaptation manager. "Only together can we make our district resilient to the consequences of climate change."
Public participation
The results of the workshop will be directly incorporated into the developing climate adaptation concept, which will be further refined in the coming months.
