Science City Darmstadt invites you to a bike tour of showcase projects on 17 September
As part of Climate Adaptation Week (September 15–19, 2025), the Science City of Darmstadt a Climate Cycling Tour on Wednesday, September 17. The tour starts at 4:30 p.m. at the Office for Climate Protection and Climate Adaptation (Hilpertstraße 31) and leads by bike to various climate adaptation projects in the city.
Stations of the bike tour
After the start, the tour will head to the Alnatura Campus , where a guided tour of the climate-adapted outdoor area begins. Further stops include:
- BUND Center for Urban Nature in Bessungen – with information on sustainable outdoor facilities and tips from the urban nature guides.
- Heinrichwingertsweg – Inspection of a municipal desealing and greening project.
- Campus Lichtwiese – Presentation of the redesigned Eugen-Kogon-Straße, awarded the 2023 Climate Prize.

Combining climate protection and city cycling
"With the Climate Cycling Tour, we combine climate protection and climate adaptation by having participants cycle to private and municipal showcase climate adaptation projects in the city in a CO₂-saving manner. At the same time, they can collect kilometers for city cycling," explains Climate Protection Commissioner Michael Kolmer .
The route is approximately 7.5 kilometers long . Participants must bring their own bike. Advance registration is not required.
