Integrated climate protection concept published – Mayor Feick invites participation
The town of Reinheim has completed the update of its integrated climate protection concept and has made the detailed final report available on the town's website since April 29, 2025. The new concept includes numerous measures to reduce energy consumption, implement efficiency strategies, and adapt to the consequences of climate change – with the aim of further strengthening Reinheim's position as a pioneering municipality in the Darmstadt-Dieburg district.
Reinheim as a role model in the district
As the district confirms, Reinheim already plays a pioneering role in climate protection. Numerous measures prioritized in the concept have already been implemented or are in the planning stages. Almost 50 projects have been realized in the past five years alone – including energy-efficient renovations, new buildings constructed according to environmental standards, and sustainable procurement measures.
Mayor Manuel Feick emphasizes:
“Climate protection is now a cross-cutting issue, and I am very pleased that this attitude has taken hold in all departments of our administration. This would not have been achievable with a single climate protection manager.”
Insight for everyone – Paperless for environmental reasons
The contents of the comprehensive plan have already been presented at two public committee meetings. To save paper, no printed versions will be produced. Those interested can find the final report on the city's website, where all appendices are also available digitally.
For questions, suggestions, or feedback, the Environment & Climate department, headed by Mr. Martin, by phone (06162 / 805-202) or by email at umwelt@reinheim.de . It is also possible to schedule an appointment for a personal consultation and review of the documents.
Feick emphasizes:
"I hope that many people will engage with the concept. We are also relying on active citizen participation here and welcome feedback from the public."
