The local business association presents a trade fair combined with a town festival in spring
The board of the Groß-Gerau business association decided at its retreat on January 31st to hold this year's planned trade fair on its own, with a comprehensive supporting program.
On April 26 and 27, 2025, retailers, businesses, service providers, and restaurateurs from the district capital and the surrounding Gerau region will present their products and services at a large trade fair in Groß-Gerau's city center. The event, held at the beginning of the warmer months, will be accompanied by a town festival and a Sunday shopping day for the whole family.
This means that the local business association has succeeded in organizing a spring festival in the city center, in conjunction with the trade fair, even after the district capital withdrew as a co-organizer. Due to the Groß-Gerau city administration's provisional budget and the cancellation of many city events for 2025, the city festival and trade fair in April were also temporarily at risk of being cancelled. The planned in-kind and financial contribution from the district capital is not permitted under these circumstances. That the event, originally planned jointly by the city and the business association, can take place at all on this scale is primarily thanks to the large number of participating companies and the exceptionally generous commitment of various sponsors.
“The city’s withdrawal was a bitter loss during the organizational phase. We are all the more pleased that we have received so much support from our members and partners in the region,” emphasizes Jörg Leinekugel, Chairman of the Business Association in Goß-Gerau.
