Cello and piano will be performed on September 12th in the garden salon in Seeheim-Jugenheim
Cellist Johannes Krebs and pianist Olena Miso will give a concert at Heiligenberg Castle in Jugenheim on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at 7 p.m. In the garden salon, they will perform works by Ludwig van Beethoven, Franz Schubert, and Sergei Rachmaninoff. The concert at Heiligenberg Castle is part of the "Listen in a Monument" series. Doors open at 6 p.m.
Johannes Krebs studied cello and chamber music in Hanover, Madrid, Basel, and Cologne, and won prizes at national and international competitions. As a soloist and chamber musician, he performed in concert halls and at festivals and was a member of the Trio Lirico and the Hanover Piano Trio, among others.
From 2002 to 2006, Krebs was assistant principal cellist of the Hamburg Philharmonic, and subsequently, until 2019, principal cellist of the Bremen Philharmonic. Since the winter semester of 2019/20, he has been a professor at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz. He plays a cello by Carlo Antonio Testore from 1746.
Concert at Heiligenberg Castle with Olena Miso
Olena Miso was born in Ukraine in 1991 and received her first piano lessons in Lviv at the age of six. She initially studied at the Tchaikovsky State Academy of Music in Kyiv and from 2015 at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz, where she completed her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in 2020 and 2022, respectively.
The pianist is a prize winner of several national and international competitions. Since 2021, she has worked as a Senior Lecturer for Accompaniment at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz.
Beethoven, Schubert and Rachmaninoff on the program
The concert opens with Johannes Krebs and Olena Miso performing Ludwig van Beethoven's Sonata in A major, Op. 69. This is followed by Franz Schubert's Sonata in A minor, "Arpeggione." After the intermission, Sergei Rachmaninoff's Sonata in G minor, Op. 19, will be performed.
