The DARMSTADT_SPEAKERS will be performing in Arheilgen and Bürgerpark on August 29th and 30th – admission is free
The DARMSTADT_SPEAKERS bring culture to two sports facilities in Darmstadt with "Culture on the Ball" on Saturday and Sunday, August 29th and 30th, 2026. The program includes music, rap, acrobatics, and opportunities to connect with others at SG Arheilgen and in the Bürgerpark. Both events are free of charge.
This cultural format departs from the traditional stage and utilizes locations normally used for sports. The aim is to bring together people of different ages and interests through sports and culture.
“Culture on the Ball” starts at SG Arheilgen
The festivities kick off on Saturday, August 29th, with a family festival on the grounds of the SG Arheilgen football club. Starting at 2 pm, the focus will be on promoting girls' football. The cultural program begins at 5 pm.
Audiences can experience rap from Spez, acrobatics by 14-year-old handstand artist Vinzent from Circus Waldoni, and the Bräuschter Shanty Choir.
The event continues on Sunday, August 30th, at 5 pm in Bürgerpark Darmstadt. Supported by SKA Bürgerpark Basketball, the lineup includes singer-songwriter Ella Fall with Jeremy Fast on piano, the indie-pop band WE LIKE BIRDS, and rap acts Terra and JNK.
The patron of the cultural weekend is Mayor Barbara Akdeniz. The event is organized by the Regional Diaconal Service of Southern Hesse in cooperation with Theater für Alle (Theater for All). The hosts are the football department of SG Arheilgen and the SKA Bürgerpark basketball team.
The project is funded by the city of Darmstadt, ENTEGA, and the Sparkasse Darmstadt and Dieburg.
