Closing times in October and over the holidays – reading room partially open
As announced by the Science City of Darmstadt, the Darmstadt City Archives closed to the public from Monday, October 20, to Friday, October 31, 2025. no consultations held, and no archival materials made available. The reading room in the House of History is exempt from the closure. Archival materials ordered in advance can still be viewed there.

Closure in December and over the holidays
On Wednesday, December 17, 2025 be closed from 2 p.m. due to an internal event . The reading room will be closed that afternoon, and viewings will only possible in the morning.
From Monday, December 22, 2025, to Friday, January 2, 2026 , the reading room at the House of History will remain completely closed. Access to archived material on site will not be possible during this time.
