Under the motto "Democratic Forest", the Association for International Forest Art is participating in the international design year World Design Capital Frankfurt RheinMain 2026. From August 22nd to October 4th, 2026, works by 30 artists from 16 countries will be on display on the 13th International Forest Art Trail in Darmstadt.
The Forest Art Biennale takes up the WDC's guiding principle of "Design for Democracy" and explores the relationship between nature, society, and democratic processes through art. The creative forms of expression range from installations and performances to lectures, plays, and musical offerings.
Conference, digital art and activities for families
The supporting program includes the 11th International Forest Art Conference and the 3rd Digital Forest. On Sundays, the association also offers special forest art workshops for families.
“Our goal is to give a voice to the forest and nature,” explains curator Ute Ritschel, describing the concept of this year’s Forest Art Biennale.
