Children and young people can discuss their wishes and ideas directly with the mayor on August 25th
What do children and young people want for their neighborhood and for Darmstadt? Mayor Barbara Akdeniz wants to discuss this directly with young people. On Tuesday, August 25, 2026, starting at 4 p.m., she invites them to an open consultation hour for children and young people at the Chillmo youth café in Kranichstein, under the motto "And what do you want?".
The consultation hour is aimed at children and young people from the district. At the Chillmo youth café at Bartningstraße 26, they can discuss their wishes, concerns and ideas directly with the mayor.
The aim is to explore what occupies young people in their everyday lives and what ideas they have about the further development of their neighborhood and the city.
"The consultation hour is a valuable opportunity to hear the voices of Darmstadt's children and young people and to work together on a city worth living in," explains Akdeniz. It is important to her to reach all children and young people and to take their concerns seriously.
"The perspectives of young people are relevant to the development of the city in all areas," the mayor emphasizes.
The open discussion offer is intended to give children and young people the opportunity to directly contribute their own topics and participate in shaping their living environment.
