The resolution calls for a legal basis and guaranteed funding for local preventive care services
The Green Party in Darmstadt advocates for strengthening community-based care in Hesse and supports the resolution of the Hessian Care Alliance. The initiative aims to secure and expand comprehensive, locally accessible, and preventative care services throughout the state. The resolution calls for a legal framework, a statewide implementation program, and guaranteed funding from the state.
In Darmstadt, there are currently five community care centers located in different districts: Wixhausen, the Pallaswiesen/Morneweg district, the Waldkolonie, Bessungen, Kranichstein, and Arheilgen. The community care workers at these centers support people with social, care-related, and health-related issues, connect them with available support services, and contribute to maintaining the quality of life in their neighborhoods.
The supporters of the resolution emphasize that community-based care forms an important link between medical care, social participation, and everyday support. They see it as a necessary complement to traditional nursing care, especially in light of demographic change and growing social challenges.
