Expression of suffering and consolation in Dvořák’s music
The Stabat Mater is one of Antonín Dvořák's most impressive sacred works. Inspired by a liturgical text about pain and consolation, the Czech composer transformed his personal grief into music of great emotional depth. Intimate melodies, rich harmonies, and powerful choral textures combine to create a work of universal significance and spiritual intensity.
