Modernized design, interactive maps and new data access for citizens
The data platform of the science city of Darmstadt has been redesigned and now offers users significantly more functions , clearer navigation and interactive maps . The platform is available via data platform.darmstadt.de and was technically and optically adapted to the new urban website.
Mayor Hanno Benz and digital director Holger Klötzner emphasize the added value for the city society:
"The new data platform offers significantly more individual representation options. The card function increases the clarity. The system has been modernized and contributes to household consolidation despite an extended range of functions."
Environment, mobility, energy & IT - everything at a glance
Three subject areas can be controlled directly on the homepage:
- Environment: weather data, air quality, pollen flight and waste information - available from different districts. The glass container locations are now visualized on an interactive card with a level indicator as well as information on the disposal of other substances such as electronic waste or old dresses.
- Mobility: In addition to the road view, a new city map also shows a bicycle path network, public transport lines with stops as well as current construction site information including the type of work and expected duration.
- Energie & IT: Diagrams for supplying renewable energies - now including local photovoltaic systems. The free “Darmstadt WiFi” is also shown cartographically, with an overview of all available hotspots in the districts.
Community project for digital transparency
The platform was in cooperation with Digitalstadt Darmstadt GmbH , the EAD (own company for municipal tasks and services) and Count+Care GmbH & Co. KG . It is continuously developed to provide transparent information from municipal data sources.
