Alliance action “Democracy Talks”
On February 14, 2025, an alliance of social service providers and civil society organizations will hold a special alliance event on Ludwigsplatz in Darmstadt from 2:00 pm to 5:30 pm regarding the federal elections.
“Our event aims to inform citizens of all ages about the upcoming election, raise awareness of the importance of the right to vote, and strengthen the dialogue about democracy and political participation. At the same time, it seeks to create awareness of the needs of people affected by anti-democratic and right-wing positions,” says Nele Keth of PaSo gGmbH, who initiated the event together with Vivien Hermann as part of the “PolitikWagen!” project.
“In addition to information booths, there will be plenty of hands-on activities to help people learn about democracy and elections. These include a mobile polling station for voters under 18, the opportunity to use the Election Compass (Wahl-O-Mat), a ‘Pillar of Democracy’ exhibit, an analysis of election questionnaires, as well as games and creative activities with information about elections. A highlight will certainly be an interactive light spray to visualize democratic messages,” adds Vivien Hermann.
The alliance invites all citizens to engage in dialogue, to learn more, and to jointly send a strong message in support of democracy.
