Traveling exhibition at the Justus Liebig House with accompanying program and artistic impulses

Exhibition featuring art, education, and participation
The exhibition illustrates why democracy is not a given, but must be defended and shaped daily. It was made possible in Darmstadt by the initiative DEMOCRACY LIVES , the GRANDMAS AGAINST THE RIGHT Darmstadt , and the Economy for the Common Good .
The exhibition is artistically accompanied by the collective MITTEnander , which uses photographs, illustrations, posters and objects to stimulate reflection on democratic coexistence.
Supporting program with workshops, music and discussion formats
A diverse supporting program complements the exhibition. Planned events include:
- Workshop “Writing for Democracy” at TU Darmstadt with reading
- Sound art performance by MITTENander
- Panel discussion on citizen participation with Heike Hofmann , Hessian Minister of Labor and Social Affairs
- Interview with Halime Gutale , spokesperson for the board of the Foundation Against Racism
Social scientist Manuel Glitterberg will introduce the topic of democratic education at the opening. The evening will be musically accompanied by Reinhard Bartmann ; other artists such as Farnaz Laleh (flute) and Victor Pribylov (accordion) will perform at subsequent events.
Offers for school classes and youth groups
School classes and youth groups can create texts on the topic of democracy in advance, which will then be displayed as posters in the exhibition. Participation in the TU workshop and the Democracy Afternoon is also possible. The GRANDMAS AGAINST THE RIGHT will be bringing an interactive democracy game, "Goodbye AfD," which playfully educates about political dangers.
