Test alerts and emergency vehicles in the city area – no danger to the population
Kelsterbach. A large-scale disaster relief exercise will take place in the Groß-Gerau district on Saturday, August 16. The aim is to test the cooperation between fire departments, aid organizations, disaster relief units, and rescue services under realistic conditions and to optimize procedures in the event of a crisis.
One focus of the exercise is in Kelsterbach: Between 11 a.m. and approximately 2 p.m., loudspeaker vehicles will be driving through several streets – including the lower part of the village and areas between Kirschenallee and Frankfurter Straße. The announcements are solely for testing clarity and effectiveness; there is no danger to the public.
From 9:30 a.m. until approximately 2:00 p.m., a large-scale disaster relief exercise will be simulated between Kelsterbach and Raunheim, on the grounds of the former Ticona company. Numerous emergency vehicles with flashing lights and sirens will be on the road. Short-term traffic disruptions are possible.
After the exercise, citizens can provide feedback on the perception and clarity of the loudspeaker announcements. The corresponding online form is available www.kreisgg.de/warngruppen
The district of Groß-Gerau and the city of Kelsterbach ask for your understanding regarding possible restrictions and thank you for your attention.
