Flag hoisted on the German diversity day 2025-focus on equality and respect
On the occasion of the 13th German Diversity Day on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, the Groß-Gerau district has again set a visible sign for diversity. Together with the team of the Office for Integration, the first district member Adil Oyan had the flag for diversity in front of the district office. The nationwide day of action this year is under the motto "If diversity wins, Germany wins" .
"The German diversity day is an important opportunity to underline our commitment to an inclusive, respectful and non-discriminatory society," says Oyan. He thanked the employees of the district administration for their continuous commitment in the sign of equal opportunities, participation and respect .
Diversity as a lived practice
Since the signing of the Charter of Diversity in 2007, the district administration systematically has pursued the goal of promoting diversity and inclusion in the world of work as well as in social interaction. As part of various internal and external projects, measures for the diverse opening developed that contribute to better understanding of social realities and strengthen dialogue.
"The district of Groß-Gerau is shaped by diversity. This diversity is also reflected in the employees of the district administration," emphasizes Oyan. "We are all responsible for living equal opportunities and social cohesion
Focus on cultural holidays
In 2025, the circle attaches particular importance to intercultural sensitization through awareness of various holidays and festivals , which are celebrated in the cultures of origin of the employees. "By dealing with our colleagues' cultural holidays, we strengthen the respectful dialogue and cooperation," explains Ivan Garofalo from the Integration Office.
