15 years of the publishing house “Saphir im Stahl” and 25 volumes of the series “Sternenlicht” – book event on June 28, 2025
On Saturday, June 28, 2025, the Darmstadt Science Fiction Club will celebrate a special double anniversary as part of its literary series: The independent publishing house "Saphir im Stahl" (Sapphire in Steel) is celebrating its 15th anniversary, and the 25th volume of its successful "Sternenlicht" (Starlight) novel series will be released. To mark this occasion, the Darmstadt Science Fiction Club invites you to an evening of readings in the small hall of the "Adebar" restaurant in Eppertshausen (Jahnstraße 2). The meeting begins at 6:00 p.m., and the literary event starts at 8:00 p.m. Admission is free.

A versatile publishing house with roots in fantasy
The publishing house "Saphir im Stahl" was founded on May 10, 2010, by Erik Schreiber. Since then, it has stood for a diverse publishing program: from classic and contemporary science fiction to fantasy and historical texts. Through series such as "Historical Germany," "Mystical Writings," and the Arcanum Fantasy Verlag imprint, the publishing house has also made a name for itself far beyond the fantasy genre.
With the acquisition of Scratch Publishing in 2017, the profile was further expanded – to include modern fiction and themes beyond classic genre boundaries.

25 volumes of "Starlight" – A tribute to the "Space Patrol Orion"
The focus of the evening is the "Starlight" book series, which now comprises 25 volumes. Inspired by the legendary television classic "Space Patrol Orion," editor Erik Schreiber developed a literary universe that captures the fascination of classic science fiction and fills it with new adventures. Numerous authors contribute their stories to this world.
Author Johannes Anders will be present in the anniversary volume and at the reading, where he will present not only the current edition but also other works from the publishing program.
