Fundraisers will be out and about from mid-September – cash, checks and in-kind donations may not be accepted
The German Red Cross (DRK) Darmstadt will begin a door-to-door fundraising campaign in Eberstadt starting in mid-September. A contracted fundraising team will approach residents and ask for their support through membership. The DRK also points out how to identify the fundraisers and that they are not authorized to accept cash, checks, or in-kind donations.
With this campaign, the German Red Cross (DRK) aims to attract additional supporting members. Their regular contributions will help to finance and plan its services and activities in the long term. According to the DRK, the willingness to provide financial support has declined in recent years.
Supporting membership is possible with an annual contribution starting at €36. As an additional benefit, the German Red Cross (DRK) Darmstadt takes out medical repatriation insurance for each supporting member.

This is how you can recognize the German Red Cross fundraisers
The recruiters wear visibly German Red Cross (DRK) clothing and can identify themselves with an ID card issued by the DRK. In addition, the Darmstadt district branch of the DRK publishes portrait photos of the individuals currently working on its behalf on its website.
The German Red Cross (DRK) emphasizes that it places great importance on a professional and respectful demeanor when soliciting donations door-to-door. Despite wearing DRK clothing, the fundraisers are neither full-time nor volunteer employees of the German Red Cross. They will provide information about their employment status upon request.
