“Strong Women. Strong Jobs” offers insights into waste disposal and street cleaning
With an event themed "Strong Women. Strong Jobs," the Darmstadt Municipal Services Department (EAD) aims to inspire women to pursue careers in waste management and street cleaning. The event will take place on Saturday, August 29, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the department's premises at Sensfelderweg 33.
The campaign aims to attract women to professions that have traditionally been dominated by men. Female visitors gain insights into the daily work routines of employees and can interact directly with professionals.
"The event aims to inspire women to pursue careers and fields of activity that have so far been dominated by men. Through hands-on activities, insights into the professions of waste disposal and street cleaning, and exchanges with specialists, the EAD wants to highlight perspectives and encourage women to consider new career paths," explains City Treasurer André Schellenberg.
The program includes job speed dating, application training, professional application photos, practical exercises, and competitions related to the EAD's various fields of work. Information booths and personal consultations on different career opportunities complement the offerings.
Families are also catered for: In addition to food and drink, there will be a children's theatre performance. Participation in the event is free.
Further information can be found on the EAD's Instagram channel.
