Creative workshops, leisure activities and circus projects during the holidays
The science city of Darmstadt has presented its 2026 Easter holiday program for children and young people. From March 30th to April 10th, 2026, young people can expect a diverse range of activities including creative workshops, leisure activities, and hands-on projects.
Mayor Barbara Akdeniz emphasizes the importance of the program: The holiday programs offer children and young people the opportunity to actively shape their free time, meet new people and try out creative ideas.
Wide range of options for different age groups
The program is organized by local clubs, associations, and institutions, as well as open youth work organizations. Numerous activities are available for different age groups – from podcast projects and handicrafts to topics related to space or the circus.
Open programs are offered in various locations, including municipal youth centers, such as the Herrngarten adventure playground or the HEAG-Häuschen Arheilgen, as well as through mobile work in the publishers' quarter.
Circus, creative activities and leisure activities
Other program highlights include creative courses offered by the youth adult education center and programs from Ubuntu eV. Circus projects are offered by Circus Waldoni and Datterino Circus Project, among others.
Outdoor activities are also part of the program. For example, children can interact with animals at the children's and youth farm.
There are still places available in holiday programs
There are currently still places available at the Avatar Leisure event at the Albert-Schweitzer-Haus from April 7th to 12th, 2026 .
Further information about the program is available online. The city also refers to the holiday and leisure portal of the Hessian Youth Ring, which compiles year-round activities for children and young people.
Participation regardless of income
The city emphasizes that all children and young people should have the opportunity to participate – regardless of their parents' financial situation. Therefore, funding for various programs is available through the Education and Participation Package (BuT).
