Information evening with Solarblüte Seeheim-Jugenheim on February 24th in the town hall
How can you save energy in your own home – without having to completely renovate windows, roof or facade? An information event hosted by the town of Riedstadt, together with Solarblüte Seeheim-Jugenheim, will provide answers on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, starting at 7 p.m. in the Riedstadt Town Hall (3rd floor).
Self-help measures with great impact
“It doesn’t have to be new windows, roof insulation, or facade insulation right away,” says Holger Thiesing of Solarblüte Seeheim-Jugenheim. While these “big three” offer the greatest savings, smaller, more affordable measures can also significantly contribute to energy conservation and improve the indoor climate. “Many things can be done and implemented yourself,” Thiesing adds.
Practical examples that have already been successfully implemented will be presented. Riedstadt's renovation manager, Krick, points, for example, to the insulation of roller shutter boxes: In addition to lower energy costs, the comfort in the room also improves, as drafts are reduced.
Insulating the top floor ceiling is the preferred option
Insulating the top floor ceiling is a particularly effective measure. "It's quick and inexpensive to implement and makes a real difference," explains Krick. A workshop on this topic has already been held in Riedstadt, and another event is planned. This measure will also be presented at the information evening.
Furthermore, the following topics are also on the agenda:
sealing windows and doors,
optimal adjustment of the heating system,
use of water-saving shower heads.
