€1,500 grant for the wheelchair handball team of VSG Darmstadt
ENTEGA AG has supported the inclusive sports project "Heiner-Rollis" of VSG Darmstadt 1949 eV with €1,500 . The team, in which players with and without disabilities play wheelchair handball together, received the funding as part of ENTEGA's employee sponsorship program . The project was proposed by ENTEGA employee Maik Buthig .
"Founded only at the beginning of 2024, the Heiner-Rollis team has already developed into a full squad of 15 players," reports Buthig. Since January 2025, the Heiner-Rollis have been participating in the newly established Wheelchair Handball Bundesliga . In addition to the sporting challenges, the travel to the match venues, some 400 kilometers away , accommodation and logistics for wheelchairs, involve considerable costs.
Employee sponsorship has been successful for over 20 years
ENTEGA 's employee sponsorship program has been running since 2003 and allows employees to propose worthwhile projects in the areas of social welfare, culture, the environment, and sports €1,500 in funding .
To date, 84 projects and initiatives 400 employees participated in the voting on 42 proposals.
“We are very happy to support the ideas of our employees,” explained ENTEGA's Chief Human Resources Officer, Andreas Niedermaier . “Employee sponsorship demonstrates how deeply rooted ENTEGA and its workforce are in the region.”
