1,500 Euro funding for the wheelchair handball team of VSG Darmstadt
ENTEGA AG has supported the inclusive sports project "Heiner-Rollis" of VSG Darmstadt 1949 eV with €1,500 . The team, in which disabled and non-disabled players play wheelchair handball together, received the funding as part of ENTEGA's employee sponsorship program . The project was proposed by ENTEGA employee Maik Buthig .
"Founded only in early 2024, the Heiner-Rollis team has already developed into a full roster of 15 players," reports Buthig. Since January 2025, the Heiner-Rollis have been participating in the newly founded Wheelchair Handball Bundesliga . In addition to the sporting challenges, travel to the venues, some 400 kilometers away , accommodation , and wheelchair logistics associated with considerable costs.
Employee sponsorship has been successful for over 20 years
The ENTEGA employee sponsorship program has existed since 2003 and allows employees to propose worthy projects in the areas of social affairs, culture, the environment, and sports . Employees then vote on the submitted projects via the intranet. The winners in each category receive funding of €1,500 .
To date, 84 projects and initiatives 400 employees participated in the vote on 42 proposals.
"We are very happy to support our employees' ideas," explained ENTEGA's Human Resources Director Andreas Niedermaier . "Employee sponsorship demonstrates how deeply rooted ENTEGA and its workforce are in the region."
