Program with games, knowledge and guided tours – New bicycle training from the police
Darmstadt. 27th Environmental and Family Day on Saturday, September 13, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at its premises at Sensfelderweg 33. Visitors can expect a diverse program for all age groups.
New this year is a bicycle skills course run by the South Hesse police , where children can test their riding abilities and learn more about road safety in a playful way. Also making its debut is the "DAseinsMobil ), which offers insights into the circular economy and gathers suggestions from visitors.
In addition to attractions such as a bungee trampoline, bouncy castle, giant slide , face painting, target shooting with SV Darmstadt 98, and rides in garbage trucks and street sweepers, there is information on electromobility, biochar, and soil improvement . Those interested in technology can visit the workshop and the environmentally friendly vehicle fleet.
Jörn Heilmann adds artistic touches , creating objects related to the circular economy. Also of interest are the bunker tours at 11:15, 12:00, and 13:00 – registration for these takes place on-site from 10:00 on the day of the event.
Exhibitors include AOK, NABU, BUND, Zoo Vivarium, Darmstadt Animal Shelter, the recycling center, Foodsharing Darmstadt, and other environmental and social initiatives. Savory and sweet dishes, cold drinks, and coffee will be available.
Parking is limited around the site. Therefore, the EAD offers a free shuttle bus from the Justus Liebig House (Holzstraße stop). The first bus departs at 10:00 AM, and the last return trip from the EAD is at 3:30 PM. The bus runs every half hour.
The EAD recycling center and the special waste collection point closed on the day of the event.
