The EU Information Centre offers a free discovery tour with questions and puzzles about Europe – suitable for children aged eleven and over
Discover Europe and get to know Darmstadt from a new perspective: The EU Information Centre (EIZ) at the Darmstadt Regional Council has developed a new EU city rally. At various stations throughout the city, participants can tackle questions and puzzles about the European Union while also learning interesting facts about Darmstadt.
The rally booklet is now available free of charge. It can be downloaded from the EU Information Centre's website or picked up as a printed copy directly from the EIZ.
Discover Europe in everyday life
The city rally connects various locations in Darmstadt with tasks related to the European Union, its history, and its significance for everyday life. Among other things, it explores where and how European cooperation becomes visible in daily life and the cityscape.
“Europe is not an abstract topic that takes place somewhere far away – Europe is something we encounter every day, right on our doorstep,” explains Regional President Prof. Dr. Jan Hilligardt. The city rally is intended to help people discover Darmstadt from a European perspective.
In addition to questions about European politics and history, the individual stations also provide information about the city itself.
For families, youth groups and school classes
The rally is aimed at different age groups and can be completed alone or with friends or family. It is also suitable for youth groups and educational programs.
Participation is recommended for children and young people aged eleven and up. Those who need help with individual tasks can use an additional discovery guide. This contains hints for solving the puzzles and is also available free of charge as a download or in printed form from the EIZ.
Depending on the chosen route, approximately two to three hours should be allowed for the entire tour. The rally can be carried out flexibly in terms of timing.
Information and rally booklet available free of charge
The EU Information Centre at the Darmstadt Regional Council, formerly known as Europe Direct Darmstadt, informs citizens and schools about the European Union, its institutions and funding opportunities.
