Children and teenagers will play in the university stadium at the end of June
On Saturday, June 27th, the "Football for All" tournament will take place for the fourth time at the Darmstadt University Stadium. The event is organized by the Mobile Youth Work program, the ROPE sports clubs, and the youth centers on Messeler Straße, Akazienweg, and Go-In.
The tournament's patron is Mayor Barbara Akdeniz.
Football, fairness and encounter
The tournament is aimed at children, teenagers, and young adults from Darmstadt who attend youth centers, youth clubs, or similar social facilities. Registration is handled directly through the participating institutions and is designed to provide easy access.
“‘Football for All’ stands for openness, diversity and encounters. Such shared experiences are particularly important for young people to strengthen self-confidence, team spirit and social skills,” explains Akdeniz.
Besides the sporting competition, the focus is primarily on fairness, team spirit and community spirit.
Two age groups at the tournament
The game is played in two age groups: children and young people between ten and 15 years old, and young people and young adults between 15 and 21 years old.
Food and drinks will be provided throughout the tournament day. The official welcome begins at 10 a.m.
Youth centers emphasize their integrative character
Aljosha Vogt from the Go-In youth center sees football as an important learning environment for young people.
“Social skills are experienced practically on the pitch. There are many reasons to see football not only as a medium, but also as a place for learning opportunities,” explains Vogt.
Hamid Garouane from the Mobile Youth Work program at Werkhof eV also emphasizes the unifying effect of sports. The aim of the tournament is to bring young people from different parts of the city together and promote mutual respect.
The event is supported by the Technical University of Darmstadt, which provides the football pitch in the university stadium.
